Nalin Surie is a lifelong distinguished diplomat, joining the Indian Foreign Service in July 1973, after graduating from the Delhi School of Economics. He has throughout his career served in Indian Missions in Hong Kong, Brussels, Dar-e-Salaam, Thimphu, as well as holding the post of Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN in New York.

His ambassadorial career started in Warsaw, before becoming India’s ambassador to China. As of the 18th of September 2010 he is India’s High Commissioner the United Kingdom, representing his country’s interests abroad.
