The Indian High Commissioner

The High Commissioner, Nalin Surie, is a very distinguished diplomat. But more importantly he is an economist by discipline and brings that lens to international affairs. He brings a rich global perspective having been Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Ambassador to China, Warsaw and then the UK.

During the conversation he answered questions such as:

How will India deal with issues such as stalled reforms, bureaucracy, rampant corruption and a lack of infrastructure, governance, education among others. What would be his advice to foreign investors looking for business in India? Given that there is a special relationship in the making between UK and India what should India ask of the UK? How will the rising numbers of middle class in the country have a significant impact on the way it is governed?
